Love is in the air, murder is on the runway, and Eve Dallas would rather face an armed suspect than go wedding dress shopping. Welcome to Immortal in Death!

This week, AJ and Tara wrap up their revisit of the original In Death trilogy with a book that has everything: a naked Eve punching a supermodel, Mavis accused of murder, a suspicious new drug promising eternal youth, and Roarke trying to plan a wedding with a woman who considers dress fittings a form of torture.

But beneath the fashion disasters and murder investigations, this is a book about love. Eve and Roarke are figuring out what it means to make a lifelong commitment, Mavis and Leonardo are navigating their own relationship drama, and Eve is discovering just how far she’ll go to protect the people who matter most to her.

Of course, that doesn’t mean everyone is behaving themselves. Roarke still needs to learn a thing or two about boundaries, Summerset is being an absolute dick, and Casto is… well, Casto. We have thoughts.

Along the way, we discuss Eve’s increasingly complicated relationship with Peabody, the emotional revelations about her childhood, the mystery of why Eve suddenly decides to smoke a cigarette, and the real-world cases and questionable health drinks that remind us a little too much of the events in this book.

Plus, we revisit some of our favorite early-series moments, including Feeney being completely starstruck, Trina’s campaign to make Eve presentable, Peabody’s unforgettable bachelorette-party toast, and the surprisingly emotional conclusion that has Tara crying every single time.

And because this is Podcast in Death, we somehow also find time to discuss how much we hate bugs, sex-doll droids, and why Crack absolutely should have been invited to the wedding.

It’s a book about love, but apparently we’re full of hate today.

Join us as we celebrate the end of the original trilogy, hand out our commendations to two very deserving characters, and look ahead to Fury in Death, our upcoming Halloween special, and whatever other chaos we have planned for the rest of the year!
