Bad Guys & Good Guys & Sex - We Review the Reviews of "Missing in Death"

In this version of “We Review the Reviews,” we are talking about “Missing in Death,” which was a novella and part of an anthology. The problem with this is that it was never a stand alone book. BUT…there was a stand alone audio recording. This concept was apparently REALLY difficult for some people to understand as some reviewers felt that their ONLY option was an audio book, because they don’t know how to search for stuff on Amazon. So, people who wouldn’t normally listen to the audio are pissed that they listened to the audio and they didn’t like Susan Ericksen. SO…this episode is a little Susan Ericksen heavy.

We have another “author” doing a one star review, and we hate it. Especially when the “author” accuses Susan Ericksen of not doing her research, but it turns out the reviewer didn’t do THEIR research.

We also talk about reviewers who:

  • Don’t understand how Roarke knows so many people
  • Think that Eve is so “black and white” that she would never let a killer go free (The Avril’s anyone?)
  • Didn’t like “revisiting early Roarke” when he was a “pigheaded shit” about the HSO
  • Think this book had none of the regular “sparkle or whit,” but that Susan Ericksen is amazing as usual
  • And of course, “too much sex”

But, we also have some great reviews:

  • One where the reviewer says that this series helps her break out of a reading slump and that Eve is strong and badass.
  • One where a reviewer said the book has “wonderful character development”
  • One who says, “as usual, the audio was excellent”
  • One who says, “I usually hate the novellas, but loved this one”
  • One who says the novel was consistent and believable and fun.
  • And one that says “you’ll definitely get ‘Lost’ in this story.”

Enjoy Everyone!
