Episode 198:Hear Me Out: We Fan Cast "In Death" Villains

This episode goes off the rails before it even starts!
So many pretentious assholes in these reviews! Starting with:
“If you like relatively unimaginative stories peopled by exceedingly attractive, infallibly intelligent, tough female cops who are more than willing to have fairly graphic sex with their exceedingly handsome, infallibly intelligent, obscenely rich, bad-guy-turned-good-guy husbands in the middle of a case (both of which, incidentally, have their vulnerabilities), then this is a book you’d no doubt enjoy.”
Well…yes…we do. We just don’t like pretentious assholes who say things like “peopled by.”
One reviewer has channeled Jen and basically says: “FUCK Roarke. FUCK this book.”
They’re not really wrong, but still.
There’s even a pretentious review from someone that rented their audio CD at a Cracker Barrel. But, look, if you like Cracker Barrel, fine.
There are a bunch of people who thought the book was good and should have been given a 4 or 5 star rating, but then gave the book 2 or 3 stars just because of their own personal hangups.
Like how they were expecting Jetpacks, and there are NO JETPACKS! But also: RESPECT THE RANK, MOTHAFUCKAS!!!
Very Frustrating.
But, we do have some really good reviews, some praise for Susan Ericksen, and a lot of really interesting discussions came out of all of this, and we can’t be mad at that.
