Episode 231: Put Down the Books & Walk Away Slowly
Podcast in Death
We’re back everyone!
We are so excited to be back with a brand new episode!
First, before we go any farther, we now have a Patreon account, and we would really appreciate your support there. The show will, of course, always be free, but we are changing the release date to Saturdays. If you decide to become a Patron, you will get the new episodes a day earlier (if the show is ready early), and you also get some extra episodes that we are calling “The Briefing Room.”
BTW…we want to say a special THANK YOU to our first Patrons:
Dianna Cook and Yvonne Ridge!
We talk about our last episode where we compared audiobook readers, and we have some further thoughts about that topic.
Also, thanks for all the positive feedback for that episode. It was really fun to record.
AJ talks about how the audiobooks are great to listen to if you are trying to fall asleep, and even if you’re not. But also, here’s a great podcast to listen to for falling asleep: http://www.sleepwithmepodcast.com/
On this episode we talk about a topic that was suggested by listener Jennifer when she CALLED THE NUMBER!!
“Eve-isms” are the things that Eve says where she’s maybe mixing metaphors or not understanding pop culture references. Though, lately, Eve has said that she might be mixing metaphors or other gaffes on purpose.
AJ saw an article about how it’s better to be kind than to be nice, and it reminded her of Eve: https://lifehacker.com/why-you-should-be-kind-instead-of-nice-1846124841
Tara thinks Eve is a lot like Sherlock Holmes.
We all love when an “Eve-ism” comes out of Eve’s genuine confusion over language or other things because they just don’t make sense to her, and she needs things to make sense.
We go off topic a little bit to talk about Bruce Springsteen and the other people who performed at the recent inauguration, and cold Bernie Sanders and then segue into a conversation about the Beatles.
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Tribute to Ringo Starr
We also love all the time that Eve references Jesus or Christ as in: Jesus Christ in Spandex, Jesus Christ on a Pogo Stick.
We discover that both AJ and Tara have ties to Enid, Oklahoma!
Also: Tara is going to be in a Virtual Production of “Clue!” the Stay-at-home edition! This show will be streaming live on February 5th, 6th, 12th and 13th at 8:00pm Eastern Time. For more information, see the following link:

Please think about buying a ticket and watching Tara’s performance!
