On this episode we talk about The Button!  This is one aspect of the “In Death” series that pretty much every reader of this series just loves!
As we all know, The Button fell off of Eve’s very ugly suit jacket the first day she and Roarke met. Roarke found it in his limousine, picked it up, told himself he was going to give it back to her, but never actually intended to do that. The moment he picked up the button, whether he actually knew it or not, he accepted that Eve was his. The button is his tangible reminder of this. It’s his talisman. It is the way he can keep Eve with him always. It’s the sweetest thing ever in any book ever.
There are many button moments, and we talk about some of our favorites and some of our listener’s favorites.
We also talk a little bit about The Giant’s Tear, because that is kind of the same thing for Eve, just not on the same level that the button is for Roarke.
Jen mentions that there is a button YANNI in “Concealed in Death.”
We talk about those things (like the button or Eve’s academy sweatshirt) that we all have that we will keep forever because they mean something to us.
Also, for some reason, we go WAY off topic and talk about pot smoking.
